I received my Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB, Exynos version, over a week before official release date. As I was using the phone I discovered several bugs with my unit, screen blackouts, occasionaly freezes, conversations loosing sound, phon not reachable over GSM network even if my signals was good. I decided to wait until official release date to see if new software would be released. On the 25th Samsung released new firmware for my phone, and I did a complet factory reset after new firmware was installed. I am now on firmware S908BXXU1AVBF and fresh phone setup.

My screen problems seems to be gone, but GSM network issues are still there. Several times I have been made aware of that my phone can not be reached by callers, even if phone is showing signals. Solution, reboot. Turning on and off flightmode did not help. Also I am experiencing sound dropouts during calls, call is not droped but sound oth ways are lost, duration 10 - 15 seconds. Also when making a call the phone uses much longer time to set up the call than other phones I have had. Calling my self from other phones give simular results, setting up phone calles to my Galaxy S22 Ultra take much longer then calling others.

Have been in contact with Samsung support, but there is no help to get there. Try this, try that, over and over again. I am starting to loose my patients now, and its impossible for me to have a phone I dont know if I can be reached at, and when I manage to set up a call, sound is lost several times during the call.

That's what i'm afraid also. Stay without phone for a few days and having to configure everything again... To receive the answer that it's normal for their phone to have such problems.

What a bad quality control and customer support.

No more connection issues after S908BXXS2AVDB update. Cosmote Network , Exynos version (of course) ,Grecce . The phone works on dual sim mode  with no errors. Just a single connection interruption on the previous AVDA firmware. My only complaint is related to both wifi and 5g signal strength which is slightly weaker than what i was used to with my old S21 ultra.  No other comlaints in general , at all. The phone has reached its full potential after that last update ( screen scrolling , photo quality , video play back etc  ) in my point of view.

I am ***** who bought first Ultra few days after Unpacked event.

The unit was bought through carrier T-Mobile and after few days of using, problem start as @Brochs described in original post.

I already wrote here about that, in hope that someone will notice and push Samsung to work harder in solving this massive problem.

Finally, I returned device very disappointed and sad, also losing some money (I couldn't return expensive cases).

I continued reading your posts in disbelief that this still didn't solved.

On 4th of May I had opportunity to buy new Ultra, now from Samsung directly, not from carrier.

I was using device with one SIM card and had no issues.

Two days ago I put another SIM in device, and today I had same issue as before.

Sudden silence during phone call, couldn't quit phone call on car screen (on device is quitted), couldn't establish new call to anyone before phone restart.

After restart, same as before drop call.

Latest update is 1st of May, S908BXXS2AVDB.

So, what to do now?

YouTubers didn't addressed this issues and their not willing to intervene (I tried even that).

I have the S22 Ultra with Snapdragon in U.S., recently went to Brazil and even that I had a International access via Verizon, my cell could not detect any operators, zero, nada!  Down there is GSM. Looking deeper, I have the SM-S908U model (for U.S.) and seems like they have another S22 (international model)  so , seems like or my cell has a big problem or the Samsung advertising is very unreliable because this cell supposed to work with all bands....not true. So, I had to purchase a cheaper cellphone with prepaid service in Brazil in order to have service and hot spot to my S22...L A M E !!!! Also, I live in rural zone, ALWAYS had service with my old S20 Ultra...not with the S22 Ultra,  it drops the service almost every 5 minutes or less...duration can be 30 seconds to one hour. So, I have an old S8+ with Straight talk pre paid card that ALWAYS have service.

Bottom line, I pad a lot for a new S22 Ultra and still need keep up two extra cells in order to have all the service in one I had with my S20 Ultra...simply ridiculous, I have reach out to Samsung and Verizon tech support, nearly 22 hours on the phone, I have tried everything in the book and what they recommended and no help.

IT IS NOT A MATTER OF SOFTWARE UPDATE, IT IS HARDWARE PROBLEM  and Samsung will not do anything about, like they did nothing with all S8+ screens getting red. This may be my last Samsung product for sure!!! Samsung WAS good when product was made in Korea long ago....
