I received my Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB, Exynos version, over a week before official release date. As I was using the phone I discovered several bugs with my unit, screen blackouts, occasionaly freezes, conversations loosing sound, phon not reachable over GSM network even if my signals was good. I decided to wait until official release date to see if new software would be released. On the 25th Samsung released new firmware for my phone, and I did a complet factory reset after new firmware was installed. I am now on firmware S908BXXU1AVBF and fresh phone setup.

My screen problems seems to be gone, but GSM network issues are still there. Several times I have been made aware of that my phone can not be reached by callers, even if phone is showing signals. Solution, reboot. Turning on and off flightmode did not help. Also I am experiencing sound dropouts during calls, call is not droped but sound oth ways are lost, duration 10 - 15 seconds. Also when making a call the phone uses much longer time to set up the call than other phones I have had. Calling my self from other phones give simular results, setting up phone calles to my Galaxy S22 Ultra take much longer then calling others.

Have been in contact with Samsung support, but there is no help to get there. Try this, try that, over and over again. I am starting to loose my patients now, and its impossible for me to have a phone I dont know if I can be reached at, and when I manage to set up a call, sound is lost several times during the call.

I'm also having signal reception issues.

I have contacted smarty to check all the settings are correct, apn etc... they are correctly set up and no network issues according to smarty.

The phone says it has signal but calls and Internet are almost unusable.

I habe tried it in town centres where there is 5 bar signal on my note 20 plus and 4g and 5g... but the s22 ultra cannot connect to Internet, very slow or message saying no Internet. side by side with the note 20 plus the note 20 plus gets 5 bars and Internet and 5g.

Also had issues with android auto.

The phone will display that it is getting signal but Android auto says it has no signal no Internet connection.

The weird thing is the phone tells me it has 5 bars but I can't connect to Internet and calls either don't work or drop out or distorted.

Samsung need to acknowledge there is an issue and come up with a solution or I will be sending the phone back within the 14 day return policy as we cannot have a phone that can't do the most basic and important roll of a phone... make and recieve calls, texts and access Internet connections.

Now given most of the issues for me are connecting to Internet I wonder if the issue is the phone or the network provider and the apn settings.

I'm in the UK, using smarty (three) network.

It would be good to know what network each person is using and what country to see if any patterns here.

Can people post here any reports they find on other forums and websites about the same issues.

Let amass evidence here for samsung to acknowledge.

There must be other reports of these issues out there.

Smarty told me to try the sim in sim slot 2 as I couldn't make receive calls texts or use Internet when I first set up the phone.
Sim slot 2 improved things in as much I could make and recieve calls but still not mobile data Internet connection.

I also have the same frustrating and unacceptable issues with my S22 Ultra. For many years I use both and iphone and a Samsung phone for my different needs. My previous Samsung was S21 Ultra which I believe was the best phone I ever owned, and completely steered me away from an iPhone. I was excited to upgrade to S22 ultra because of the s-pen, but after just 2-3 days I had to use the again iPhone as my primary device. The network issues on the S22 were simply unbearable and rendered the device unusable. Regular network drops, slow data speeds, but mostly the phone calls. I couldn’t hear anything and the other side couldn’t hear me. Regardless of whether I take a call or make the call, simply there was no audio. I tried network reset, taking out the sim card and putting it again, device restart…and things would improve for the moment, but half an hour later same issues again. I had no choice but to go back to the trusty iPhone which luckily I still have, because this the S22 ultra was simply unusable. This is an unacceptable bug on the side of Samsung!

Anything else I could probably live with, but with these network issues the phone is as good as a shiny expensive brick. I will not return it for the next few days, hoping that Samsung will repair it with an update. I still believe is a fascinating device that I look forward to use, but for now it’s just frustratingly disappointing expensive waste of money 😞

Same problem here with the exynos version (belgium). Call sound stop working randomly. Sometime the phone can't even close the call and must be restarted to be usable again. Sad story for a smartphone at that price.

I contacted Samsung support but they have no informations at all. Sending it back for a refund.

I think you should go for the replacement.

If it was a widespread issue it would be all over the Internet. As it is im only finding two links to the issue. So maybe its some units are faulty and a new handset may solve it. Given samsung not yet even acknowledged really there is an issue I worry  we will end up going past the 21 days return period so if they offering a replacement maybe take them up on it.

Also report back here if that solves the issue.
