Subject says it all.
I can open the app. But the moment I try to make a call or receive a call, the apps goes on a crash loop. I cannot view the contact if who is calling me, i cannot hang up, and I cannot use the phone as the app keeps popping in front and crashing.
Resetting the phone is not an option as I have multiple MFAs configured and not easy to restore.
Anybody with the same problem or any solution for this issue?
I have already cleared the storage for the app, rebooted the phone multiple times and even tried on safe mode.

I just tried what GlennTech mentioned. Wiped the Partition Cache on the phone and made sure to follow all the steps religiously. Rebooted the phone out of recovery system and back to normal system. The problem still exists and the phone app is crashing like crazy.

I am also having the same issue with this update - S22 Ultra. So annoying...I downloaded the Google phone app as a workaround.

Hey I just resolved the problem but at a small price. Lost all of my icons and settings (sigh) but I guess I can get those icons and settings in about 30 minutes, so only 30 mins to waste but the problem can be solved.
I followed what the user Rob04726 mentioned in the 3rd (or 4th) post. Try this first, you may be able to keep your icons ..
Settings > Apps > Phone > Storage
Clear cache and Clear data.
Then restart the phone and see if that resolves the issue. If that did not work out, then follow this ..
Settings > Apps > Phone > One UI Home
Clear cache and Clear data.
Restart the phone. That should help but you lose all the icons and settings. Hate adding them back but hey, at least this brick works normal now lol. Nah jk, I love my Samsung phone!

Per the support agent about 10 hours ago, they were aware of the issue and working on a fix ASAP. Someone a few posts up suggested downloading the Google Phone app and that seems to be working at the moment. Hopefully, they get it figured out soon.

Similar problem after update today. Phone app crashes and cannot access my contacts. Wiped cache partition, repair apps, cleared caches and data, nothing works. Google phone app allows me to make calls for now but cannot access contacts and even the Google phone app crashes every few uses. When using Mozilla, I notice an error message on my phone that pops up and says error with android.process.acore blah blah.
PLEASE fix this Samsung! Worst update ever! If I wanted to deal with this sh*t after an update, I'd buy an iPhone!

+1, as I'm having the exact same issue. Tried several methods and still no dice Using GOOG phone workaround at the moment, but not ideal. Please fix as this impacts a primary function of the phone... 😉
