Notifications not working

Hey, so I'm one of the many who's just made the switch to Samsung after being an iphone user for years, and I really like the phone, I love the level of customisation you get and I love the S pen! But I'm having trouble with the notifications and it's really stressing me out and I'm considering getting a refund on this and going back to iphone, which would be a shame. Basically, for facebook & messenger I'm getting mostly no notifications. I have got some for a few Message threads but not all and for the Facebook app I'm not getting any. All notification settings are correct, I've reset the app preferences and reset my phone then set notifications back up, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, still nothing. The Gmail app also wasn't working, the badge notifications are now working again, but I'm getting lock screen notifications even though those are turned off. I've currently still got my iphone running on my WiFi so I can make sure I don't miss any notifications. If anyone has any ideas please help!

Thank you, I'd done most of those steps and the ones I hadn't I will try but I don't think they will help with the particular issue I'm having. It's probably going to be back to iphone for me!

It's normal not to receive any though Facebook and at times messenger. I ditched them apps are long time ago to use Instagram, at least with that one you receive them okay alongside with WhatsApp too

Oh really? If that's a normal thing for android then I might as well go back to iOS where it actually works perfectly! It's a shame because I'm liking a lot of other stuff about android, but notifications working is a big one for me

For Gmail you can go to settings in Gmail and select options shown in pictures, as for Facebook and messenger check if both of them isn't put in deep sleeping apps in battery settings and make sure all notifications are allowed in your phones settings and in facebook and messenger app settings under notifications section

Thanks, my issue with Gmail is different, I only want app badges and have gone in and modified the settings exactly as I want them, but I'm still getting lockscreen notifications. I restarted the phone after setting them too. What's the point in having all these granular setting options if they don't actually work?! I think I'll be swapping this for an iPhone at this point. Thanks for your response though
