My S22 is slow, always lagging and updates for my app take forever. Bad decision upgrading.

How long have you owned the phone @cluffy1966  ?

If I may also ask....

Are you on the latest software update.

Are your Playstore and Galaxy Apps updated.

Did you use Smartswitch to transfer your info from your previous phone to the new one.

Return for a refund. Same happened with me with the s21 and because it was over 21 days when i didu claim samsung only offer to send your phone to repair and that can take weeks leaving you without a phone...

I've owned my S22 256GB for a week and can say that I also feel it slow and lagging sometimes. The worst thing is the battery life which is very poor...
