My NFC notification symbol has stopped working after having the phone for several months. The NFC function works ok, as far as I can tell (on a few different bus and shop terminals). The setting is 'On' but no notification symbol is seen. I have tried wiping the NFC app cache and data and even factory resetting the phone as advised by Samsung UK. No change. I am in the UK. My S22 Ultra has all the updates (inc July).
Under Settings>Apps>NFC>notifications are allowed.
Under Settings>Notifications>App notifications no NFC app is listed.
This is a little annoying obviously. Does anyone have any suggestions? It did happen after the July update so is possibly related to that.

Just to add @Nickb99 on my Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra the ' N ' symbol does not show in the top status bar.
My NFC is always on as I use it everyday.
So when I pull down my notification shade I can see the NFC is toggled On as its lit up in blue.

Ah, that is interesting to know. As I posted, mine always was until last week.
Perhaps this is a planned software change to make more models work the same way 🤔
But a bit confusing if so.

I remember my Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra had the N symbol showing but it's now in its Box as Back up phone so can't check.
However unless another owner says something different I don't think the NFC Icon shows now.
It shows as the lit up icon on the pull down shade @Nickb99

Maybe some other UK S22 Ultra owner will post here and let me know!
Also; I will ask the Samsung store to check their models for the same function.

Ok. I think maybe I solved it. I found this post with a very similar issue. And I did change my SIM card recently. So I think it is likely due to that. I'll test when I can get my hands on another SIM.
