Hi

I have a s22, and can send short text messages SMS, if they are longer they will not send, and it says message not sent, service not activated. I've called my network, they said its a handset issue?

Are you in the USA 🇺🇸 iv'e heard that people in the states are having issues sending and receiving messages on provider locked handsets. I'm in the UK so I don't have any issues. Samsung is aware of the problem so hopefully you'll get a update to fix the bug.

Hi!

Try the following on your device:

- Open the Settings app then tap Apps. Select Messages then tap Storage to access the app's storage menu. Tap Clear cache at the bottom to clear all accumulated cache for Messages. Restart your device.

- If no luck with the first one try this, go to Settings >> General Management >> Reset >> Reset network settings. Restart your device.

Are you using Samsung message app, or different?

I use Google's message app, which is closer to Apple app, but not quite... Esp in the UK.... Bloody networks.

Anyways, have you tried a different app to send messages?

If its over the allocated 160 characters per SMS the phone will try to send it as an MMS. Sounds like you do not have MMS enabled at network (note this is usually a chargeable service)

You said that this issue came when you switched providers. Did you changed the sim also or is the same sim card? What provider are you with now?

Have you tried to Force restart your phone

Google message app, is text n SMS, and MMS.

I stead of usi g Samsung's generic message app, try a different one.

Also, when you got your new SIM card, did you do a reboot after putting it in?

Sometimes when changing networks, you have to force it to accept the new network.
