S22 plus does not show 4g only LTE or 5G when there is 5G coverage. 3G turned off in my area. I am in ID which uses 3 network. Have tried various network preferences using special samsung code to access phone details, adjusted APN. 3 other Sims on same network and others. My sim shows 4g when in other phones. And other sims also do not see 4g when on my s22 plus. I have a suspicion I am missing a set up or worst case the true 4g OFDMA hardware is not working. Although hardware tests via members forum app shows hardware working. Any thoughts?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

The term LTE is used on your device and it will pick up the better of 4g & LTE (which is broadly the same thing).

Due to the requirements for the top row of your screen, devices will show one or the other and not both.

Welcome to the Samsung UK and EU forum!

If you go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode, there should be an option to change the settings to 5G/LTE/3G/2G. It's also worth noting that LTE is 4G and is usually referred to as 4G or 4GLTE.

Thanks for your quick reply. Already set to 5G/LTE/3G/2G. While LTE has been designated under the banner of 4G it is not true 4G OFDMA. As per above I only see LTE and jum to 5G. I have tried my sim in an S22 and S22 ultra and they both show 4G and have better coverage indicator bars so there is 4G available. Any other thoughts.

4G and LTE have become interchangeable due to marketing, whilst 4G is slightly faster the diffewrence is very marginal.  https://www.itpro.com/mobile/28690/lte-vs-4g

While I understand and appreciate the comments on here, that does not resolve why different sims from same provider in s22 plus show LTE and my sim in S22 and S22 Ultra are showing significant greater bar strength e.g. dbm's and visa versa with Sims in original phones. So, from my perspective, this is not resolved.

Hi there

I'm afraid whilst you think the "issue" hasn't been resolved, simply it won't be.

The S23+ may have a different modem / hardware set up to the other devices for example.

As has been said before, the difference is negligible and I don't see a resolution here other than what has been said that you'll accept.

Your only option is to go to:

Samsung Members App
Support
Feedback

And post your question there and see if the developers decide to take a look. Note that the developers get a huge amount of traffic through this route and that there are millions of devices out there. So if others haven't reported it, it is unlikely that they will spend much time on it.
