I had this phone from 02 on the 15/07. Past few days I've noticed a crackling/ distorted sound when receiving calls/ calls from Facebook messenger / alarm clock. It doesn't happen every time but it is becoming more frequent. For the past two days it's happened with my morning alarm.

My phone volume is never full, Infact it's usually on silent.

Any recommendations please as don't want to be stuck with a faulty phone.

Hi mumofboys87 never had that issue with my S22 plus I think you should contact Samsung for that.

@mumofboys87: Please can you try heading to the Samsung Members app > Press and hold on the app icon > Diagnostics > Speaker, and follow the on screen instructions. Does the crackling occur during any of the speaker tests? If it does then please reach out to our Help Desk by heading to samsung.com > Scroll to the bottom of the page > Contact us, and get in touch via your preferred channel, and an advisor will be on hand to assist you further.

If the crackling is not present during the speaker tests, then please try pressing the Volume Down and Power buttons together for around 10 seconds until the phone restarts. Don't worry, this won't affect your personal data or settings. If you have a case or cover on the device, please remove it temporarily in the event that it is obstructing the speaker(s). If the problem persists, can you let me know if you're using a particular app or feature when you encounter the issue, or is it random?

It is random, the speaker and mic test was fine, as was the video recording sound (I have contacted support) will try a restart. I do have a case on but it does not cover the speaker?

This is a common problem with the entire S22 line and it is surprising the issue is not recognized by Samsung. It is likely an inherent design flaw in the S22 design. The speakers will distort and crackle when subjected to pressure changes such as going on a flight or during colder temperatures (< 60 F). If you want to test your phone, put it in a fridge or freezer for 2-3 minutes and try the speakers. They will likely crackle, just as two of my s22s did. The reason you hear it in the morning is that the phone cools off at night while you are not using it. A common temporary solution is to pop open the sim card tray to equalize the pressure and stop the crackling. Many have received several defective phones in a row. You can try your luck with a new one, but this issue will likely happen sooner or later. Utterly ridiculous that Samsung has not addressed this yet

Does every one of these phones suffer from this or is it just an early batch with the problem?

I  Could not agree with you more because because clearly more than one ***** person is having this problem they're absolutely ridiculous it's like they can take our money but when we complain about an issue they want to want to say oh it's just your phone it's like did you not see the other 10,000 people that commented on the post  I think we are to start a class action lawsuit Maybe then they'll acknowledge the problem

I sent my first phone back, but my second one has the same issue. In fact the normal sound quality is also terrible, it's really tinny. I've got dolby atmos on, I've adjusted the sound balance, I've done the hearing test. It's just about OK but really poor compared to my previous phone (an old Oneplus).
