I installed today the GOS update. After install I rebooted phone and also wiped cache.

Before update my Geekbench result was single core 1181 / Multi-core 3524.

After update Single core 662 / Multi-core 3584

So single core result halved. I tought this update should have improve the performance but it did the opposite?!?

I don't remember if it was our release rumours or what but I heard they were getting vapour chamber cooling which begs the question why would they do it?

With the S21 ultra I think knowing what I know now when I got it first thottleling was not on so over heated ..I sent back but they prob sent software patch to turn on thottling which helped S21 ultra for everyone who had overhearing problems at start

Save money ie say oppo has 4 inside ..but just say Samsung put 2 or 3 inside instead of 4 then relied on thottling to help you just hope they have not cut corners on the heat protection

Agreed I won't be a first adopter again hense why I be we I'll stick with S21 Ultra for now, even though the S22 Ultra is much more my type of phone with its integrated S pen, I use that case which I hate yet have come to tolerate. I got mine very early on pre order too. Mine initially overheated when using Lightroom mobile. As I was using the S Pen and a kickstand case I never noticed for a while then I felt heat radiating at me then I freaked at how hot the phone was, thought it was going to be fried. It got really hot adjacent to the camera bump in that area as well as the sides and somewhere else I can't remember on my the back. After full reset and manual app redownload, and soft resets, cache app clearance it seemed to perform way better.

So some S21 ultra throttling was not turned on at time of release my one I could not cope with overheated etc so got my money back ..your one you waited got software patch that turned on thottling ...so think about it if they turn off thottliing in yours what will happen ??

Best not speculate and look to teardowns on YouTube to find out. I'm up in for work in 4 hours lol I don't know where the time went but I'll maybe have a look to see if Jerryrigs done a teardown and compare a la cooling systems.

I tried all that ..my s21 ultra was bad...you could cook egg on it was so hot ..I still believe that they turned on thottling that stopped the prob ...now if S22 series is same and they relied too much on throttling and cut corners on heat protection do you think they will competely turn off thottling and take the chance of a note 7 fire problem again ?? That's the question ??

Do you have sources for the throttling not being on at release then security patch subsequently turning it on? I will read in morning. I could still throttle it myself in power saving settings if in the fictional situation that they would allow their phones to go back to overheating with no solution. Final message need sleep.
