Can anybody tell me how to get rid of the annoying popup game ad I get each and every time I open the Galaxy Store app .? It's driving me bonkers on all Samsung devices...

Just to piggyback onto what @BandOfBrothers suggested, you might wish to open Galaxy Store, click Menu, click the cog that represents Galaxy Store settings and then under Auto play videos, choose Never.

This should stop any videos (including adverts) playing whilst you are using the app.

Please let us know how you get on.

I keep looking myself @lahoof

I choose the " Do not show this ad again " option.

I've just tried this to see if it helps.

Launch Samsung Galaxy Store.

Tap on Menu in bottom Rh corner.

Tap on the cog for settings.

Toggle Off ' Great News and Special Offers '

I'll check tomorrow to see if that helps as I've already tapped on the Do not show this again option today.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

The "do not show this again" button just means don't show that game again I'm afraid ...

Very true 👍 @lahoof

It's a start at least.

Toggle Off ' Great News and Special Offers ' does not change the behaviour at all.

The "do not show this again" will show all the same.

Samsung should create a setting for suppressing that stupid add. I am sure that people interested on gaming will enable it.

the problem is they keep changing the providers lists, so even if you do the above those popup ads come back from the new ones which aren't disabled automatically. the toggle should be allow all or allow none but it doesn't work like that sadly. it only turns off what is there when you are changing that setting on the day.

If you just use the store to update the pre-installed Samsung apps, long press on the icon in the app grid or home page and choose the option there to go straight to the updates page. You don't get the popup doing that.

Update everyone; turning off the two providers lists DOES work but not immediately.. there must be some sort of overnight process that makes the actual changes. I guess the challenge now will be to keep those lists updated. I'll keep you posted if I learn anything else... Further update; it's working on my Tab S7+ but not on my S22 Ultra. Now im really confused.

I understand your point of view. When I was using the older versions of Samsung, I liked using it without ads. However, that was a long time ago. The newer the model, the more ads it has. I usually try to turn off all ads and videos in the settings, but some of them still show up. I don't mind if helpful pop-ups about discounts like these https://promolayer.io appear on store sites. However, I also often see these stupid video game videos when I scroll through social media. However, I think it's much easier to advertise on a social media page, so it doesn't surprise me. Nevertheless, it would be great if I could turn off all ads.
