I just had a new SIM card put in my phone because I wasn't receiving all my text messages. Since having that done, I find I can no longer send emojis using my Samsung messaging app. It works using Google, just not Samsung which is what I've always used in the past.

I solved the problem by going into settings and changing the input mode to automatic. For some reason, when my sim card was changed, the input mode changed to alphabet.

My first thoughts here are whether Samsung are attempting to send as an MMS and you having a spend cap (maybe at £0) stopping these going out?
Can't see that a SIM change would stop emojis otherwise.
