Do double check all the permissions and sync settings in your email app and via logging into your email on the official bt.com email login site.
Sometimes a soft reboot by turning the phone off and on helps.

I have my Bt Internet email address in my Samsung email app and this sometimes happens or I get a pop up saying to enter my password but does not accept the correct password.
I end up needing to delete the email address from the phone's settings > Accounts and Back up > Manage Accounts and then delete the email address.
Re enter the details and turn the phone off and on.
I'm not sure why this only happens with the bt Internet address as my other types of email addresses are fine.
