charing port issue - neither fast charge or android auto are working

My phone charges fine - wired and wireless - but as of a few weeks ago, fast charging does not work and android auto isn't recognized, even though the phone is charging while plugged into the car.  It is NOT the cord, I've tried several others and other devices in my family trigger android auto when plugged in.  

I am still under warranty but had such a problem with the camera when I first got the phone that I really don't want to risk that again - but on the flip side, fast charging and android auto should be working, right?
