Charger port connection

Scincr new the usb-c had never fully inserted ans with the slightest wiggle or movement can fall out or not connect and stop charging. Very annoying and happens with any usb-c 

It is clean and free of obstruction in the port so any ideas?

The usb-c cable never goes all the way to the hilt, there is maybe a mm short of it going fully in which is where it would 'secure'

Hi there, @chesterchessington. That's odd, and I appreciate you reaching out to the Community about this. The charger should fit snugly in the USB port of your S22 Ultra once it's connected. It should never wobble or feel loose. This would indicate, of course, that something is impeding the connection.

I appreciate that you've already checked the charging port for dust and debris, and have satisfied yourself that it is clean and clear. Are you, however, using a case or cover on your phone? If so, then this might have an impact on how snugly (or not) the cable or connection would fit.

I recommend that you please head to the Samsung Members app > Support > Phone diagnostics > USB connection, and follow the on-screen instructions to see if this returns any errors.

Hi Paul thank you for a speedy response.

The case is an official Samsung case which does not impeded and have tried without the case and other branded usbc. I shall take in store for them to advise.

I don't bother with wires I have an anker wireless charger.
A Samsung plug with USB, fast cable and a magnetic c plug. I get a fast charge and no wires.

Sounds like either a bad connector on the lead or the power jack, I would get it checked asap so as to avoid damage to your phone

Hi all. I have exactly the same issue with my samsung s22. Bought new leads thinking old was worn away, however all new ones and old just don't fit snuggley and reduces charge quality and it now won't connect in my van for Google map sync 😑

I always have this issue every 6 mo ths ans havw to tale it to samaung repair who scraps a MICRO amount of dust from the charging port then it works fine for 6 months then i have to go back. Samsung should have an attached dust cap

I have an S21, and exactly the same thing happens to me, about every 4 to 6 months.  Even when I think the port is clean, I manage to scrape a little more dust/lint out with a thinned-down wooden toothpick.  Works every time, though!  My pockets must be really dusty 😞.  If you have a 3D printer, there are models available for USB-C covers.  I'm printing one today!
