Yes re: battery drain. I typically get 2 days per battery charge, today was less than 12 hours.

Anybody know what can be done about this?

I found that in my case the solution was to simply let my phone completely discharge. Today it's holding a charge. Typical use and after 5 hours I'm still at 75%.

Same here. S22 Ultra 512 after upgrade battery doesn't last half a day. Before update at the end of the day I had about 50% left. After update it lasts only half a day. No settings were changed, nothing. Same usage pattern. I tried to drain the battery empty and charge it, also tried to wipe the cache partition, didn't help. I really hope that Samsung will take this seriously and release a fix to solve this issue! I've always preferred Samsung over other brands but this gets me thinking to run away from it.

Here are screenshots of battery usage before and after upgrade.

Thanks, DuckFluffer, I tried that but no joy - just as bad as it was following the upgrade.

My S22 Ultra updated on January 23, 2024.  The update is TERRIBLE!  My phone has multiple issues with speakerphone and mute not responding, battery draining much faster, caller ID, ETC.

I've used Samsung Galaxy phones for over a decade.  Since this recent update, I'm not planning on buying another Samsung phone.

So the solution in my case was to perform a factory reset...

Beside this post I submitted an error report via Samsung Members app and support contacted me. We arrenged the call, I gave permisson for remote access to my device and the conclusion was that everything is OK with the device and advice was to do a factory reset. It's a pain in the a** I know but it helped. No more issues with overheating and battery draining.

My steps were:

1. Device backup to Samsung cloud (images and videos excluded to avoid performace issues)

2. Factory reset

3. Restore from cloud

4. Still had to setup some apps from start, especially apps from work profile

Hope this helps.

Aren't you reading these complaints? Why do we have to send in error reports? Aren't these error reports? Come on Samsung, you're better than this. Just fix the software issue so our phones stop draining battery.

While you're at it, fix the camera quality issue.  Superb picture quality when I bought the phone.  After a few software updates,  I'm carrying my old Samsung phone just to take pics or I borrow my husband's free Consuner Cellular Motorola cell phone to take pictures. BTW, when I bought my Samsung S22+ it took much better pics than his Motorola.  Mmmmm

Same issue here. Battery drains faster. I went from a galaxy S20 in perfect condition to a S23 just for the better battery life and the chipset. And it was AWESOME on ONE UI 5... now, on one ui 6, the S23 lasts less than the S20 :(((

I did a factory reset, i let the battery drain and still no improvements...

On one ui 5 my phone lasted longer with all the features like location or mobile data turned on than it lasts now with them off

@samsung

Please fix this issue, you are better than this.
