* UPDATE *

Go into settings > Device care > Performance profile and set the profile to light.

IT IS A GAME CHANGER.

!!! I got 10:30 hours of usage from 100 to 14%. 9:48 hours of screen on time, on youtube + some short breaks to send some messages. !!!

(Power saving was on the whole time but that ads maybe like 1 - 1:30 hpurs to the total time)

Thanks, Wendigo623, but my phone was already set like this so it didn't work for me.

I'm really surprised that no one from Samsung has reached out to this thread to make suggestions and/or say that they are working on this issue. 😞  As someone else said earlier in the thread, "c'mon Samsung - you're better than this"!

I've literally signed up to the community forum (after being a Galaxy S user since 2012) for this reason: the way battery life is ruined since the One UI 6 update is RIDICULOUS.

My phone is a S22.

Samsung please fix this ASAP.

Same problem on my Samsung 23.

Battery life is about 1/3 of what it was before the One UI update

Exact same problem for me here, ever since the latest update, my battery will barely last until 6pm after waking up at 7am and working all day. It makes no sense! My battery used to be great for my S22U, but now, can't understand it. It literally takes as long to charge now as it does to use that charge! Please Samsung, fix this issue!!!!

I'm still having the same issue - high battery usage, although not as bad. Samsung did issue an update within the last day or so, so maybe that will help.

And speaking of Samsung, I am surprised that no one from Samsung has come on this thread to address these issues, or at least to say that they are looking into it. 😞

Something is running in the background of One UI 6. Like all of you, my battery life has dropped considerably. From around 30 hours to less than 8. The phone is glitchy/laggy too, e.g. transitions and video stutter, and sometimes, when typing, nothing happens for 2 to 3 seconds, then all of a sudden all the text appears. Also, apps appear to hang, or won't open when their icon is clicked, but then burst back into life. The battery, on Samsung's own QI Charger used to charge in 2.5 hours. Now, after 8+ hours, it is only getting to about 80%. I have also noticed that even when not used, the phone is always warm. This was not the case before One UI 6. It is clear that Samsung have introduced an update that runs some processes in the background, that is consuming resource, hence the battery drain and laggy stuttering performance, but nobody (apart from Samsung) knows what that process is and if there is a way to disable it. My Samsung is provided by my company. We have around 2,500 company mobiles phones, about half of which are Samsung. Our mobile team have issued a notice NOT to upgrade any Samsung devices to One UI 6.0. I wish they had sent this before I updated, as Samsung have ruined this phone for me and have lost my trust. Apple did something similar to me in the past (you may remember that Apple got fined in a number of countries for deliberately degrading older devices to force their customers to buy new devices), and as a result, after over 10 year of my loyalty to Apple iPhone and iPads, I switched to Samsung. Now I am considering moving us away from Samsung as I no longer trust them not to screw up their user experience, but I don't trust Apple either, so I will have to look elsewhere. This is totally unacceptable, Samsung. Imagine taking your 3 year old car in for a service, but when you get it back, it keeps starting and stopping, it takes you a whole morning to fill the fuel tank, and due to power drain, the car won't start a few hours after you park it. I find it hard to believe someone with the level of R&D of Samsung did not know about this issue when they released One UI 6.0. I strongly suspect THAT is the reason that they are not responding to this thread (and all the others) complaining about the update. The latest phones seem less badly affected, if at all (my Daughter's brand new Samsung phone is fine). Have Samsung "done an Apple"? I.E. degraded users phones and quietly keeping their heads down in the hope that we all throw away the perfectly good devices THEY ruined and buy new Samsung devices? I really hope not, as I thought Samsung were better than that. However, one of my tech team tells me that Samsung have been prosecuted for degrading printers with upgrades. Maybe they are quietly trying the same trick with mobile devices.....

I agree completely. I thought I had figured it out (phone "forgets" what full and empty is and allow the phone to completely discharge) but another update recently came down and now I'm back where I was. It doesn't matter how I use the phone "something" running in the background is devouring the battery. Yesterday it alerted me that there was a process that was consuming resources and I had to restart. Forced obsolescence?

Same happened to my few months old Galaxy S23. Battery empties rapidly after the UI 6 update. And charging got much slower. Samsung needs to fix this.
