Does the alarm works with phone off i cant get it to work but previous android versions works fine even with phone off.

No, in fact I've never experienced a turned off phone being anything other than a paperweight.

But if something is turned off it has no power to do anything. I don't understand how you could have had this working in the past or are we talking at cross purposes?

If you need an alarm but don't want to be disturbed with texts etc during the night just put the phone on "silent " - that's what I do! (The alarm still works).

other option set the flight mode on , alarms still work, but the phone and Internet are not available, maybe not such a good idea then
