What will be its use?

About Eraser: It'll leave an erasing mark.  Can it be avoided?  Thanks

It could be used to hide/blur sensitive information. Let's say you took a picture of something with your address on it and want to share it with others. You can use this to blur out your address. Personally I use it for this purpose.

But why it needs adjusting strength?

If you set it on 100 it will be bigger line that's why adjustment sliders is there to adjust to you desired size of the line.
For example if I set it to 1 it will be very thin line barely visible if I adjust to 50 it will be bigger.
