Hi everyone!
I'm having new issues with Samsung's Gallery Sync to OneDrive! Previously on this forum people have described how photos and videos are not synced to OneDrive immediately (unlike others like Dropbox), and requires a manual sync.
Now the WhatsApp media folders don't appear in 'Albums to sync' in Gallery's settings. They were there before, and WhatsApp is still set to show media in Gallery. WhatsApp photos and videos appear in Gallery, there's just no option to sync their folders. Currently I only have 'Camera' and 'Screenshots' as options.
This happened after using Gallery's 'Free up phone space' feature. This clears all folders from 'Albums to sync', and then as photos and videos appear in Gallery again, new folder options to sync appear. Just not happening with WhatsApp now though. Anyone else having this issue? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE phone with latest software, Android 11, One UI 3.1, and Gallery version 12.1.09.0.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thanks!

This is an insane reply because google photos can backup that folder and so can many other platforms.
Not to mention Samsung can easily bypass this, as they have development access to bypass any restrictions.

This is also a BS reply since it used to sync WhatsApp media perfectly fine in previous versions.

Well... I was facing the same problem and after a long time looking for a solution I found out the problem wasn't about OneDrive itself, but Samsung Gallery. For some reason, WhatsApp folders aren't avaiable to be selected under the Gallery app sync settings as they used to be, but you can also do it the other way around by going to OneDrive app sync settings and setting the folders you want to sync. Just open the OneDrive app, hit the "Me" tab, "Settings", "Camera upload" and voilà! It worked for me and I hope it also works for you guys.

I actually realized that WhatsApp has its own backup of media and not just chat history, hence photos and videos (need to explicitly mark videos as well) will be backed up anyway.
If you have that option enabled, backing them up in OneDrive is redundant.

Thanks for the info. I don't have a "Camera Upload' option. I'm on a S21 Ultra (12).

I'm also on a S21U (12) and I have it. Could you please print the "Me" and "Settings" tabs and post here?

Thanks for the suggestion, however those that use the Samsung Gallery onedrive sync option, the upload via the onedrive app is not available.
This needs to be addressed immediately via Microsoft and Samsung.

I don't use the sync option as a backup but to display the pictures automatically on my PC, so it's not redundant
