at first i notice flickering lines on my device specially when playing games. I ask the samsung support and instructed me to soft reset my phone. then it turned green and white display and overheat when stayed open for a while.

is it a screen problem or just an update issue?

Hey so 2 possible fixes and also root cause.

1. A New Screen.

2. Disconnect the screen if you know how to by removing the back ( you will probably need adhesive after n.b. samsung techs.) After which you plug it back in and reset all settings, not a factory reset.

Root causes.

Software issue where the phone overheats due to gpu circuitry not complying with that of the CPU, thus causing the phone to have issues returning a normal image.

Pressure or sudden pressure to the phone especially on low power can also cause the issue to occur, by sudden pressure I mean force grip, falls etc.

Let me know if this helps if not I have the last resort fix but I wont post it here thanks.

Hey Tess, something to look at,

Hey so 2 possible fixes and also root cause.

Pressure or sudden pressure to the phone especially on low power can also cause the issue to occur, by sudden pressure I mean force grip, falls etc. This is a software bug as tested on nearly 7 s20 line series devices so far, all same results.

Let me know if this helps if not I have the last resort fix but I wont post it here thanks.

Dont worry, soon the screen will become permanently white.. Then you can happily change the display

Have they released an official statement about this? encountered this issue 15 minutes ago. tried my best to turn the phone off for a few minutes, when I turned it on, it's still the same. tried lowering the brightness and the screen went back to normal.

I agree with you. I noticed that when there is a display issue, the phone overheats. Overheating could be a sign of a display issue...

Yeah however samsung sucks for knowing this issue was possible and not even doing a recall.
