will micro SD card formatted to exFAT work across Mac and Note 9?

If I have a micro SD card formatted as exFAT, will that enable me to have it read by both my Note 9 and my Macbook Air?

I have a SanDisk 64gb Micro SD card. It was formatted as FAT32, showing up as 'WINDOWS_FAT_32' on my Mac running OS Mountain Lion. The Mac couldn't read the card as it only reads what it calls 'MS-DOS (fat)'.

On my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 I was using File Explorer Pro to transfer files from my Note 9 internal storage to the micro SD card. However it was very slow and was prone to crashing. In one case it caused two corrupted 0kb files to be created that I couldn't even delete on my brothers Windows 10 laptop.

So I thought if I out the card in my Mac I could download the files to it and reorganise them on it. However the default formatting on my Android phone is FAT32, aka WINDOWS_FAT_32.

I am now formatting the card as exFAT on the PC
Are there any pitfalls to do this?

Cheers m

Yes, ex-fat is compatible with both systems.
