I have a Samsung Note 10+ 5g phone, I've noticed when I have the protect battery (charge to 85%) on, my phone seems to die quicker or have to charge it more than I should do with the feature on

Is this normal with this feature and will it affect the battery if having to charge it more than usual or is it just another way for Samsung to to force more wear and tear on the battery resulting in spending money for replacement?

Hi there, @AM69. What you've described is perfectly normal, as charging to 85% will preserve the overall lifespan of your battery, but will likely mean you'll get less usage time between charges. It taxes the battery a bit more when you charge to 100%, as opposed to 85% (or even to a lower percentage than this).

If you prefer to charge your battery up to 100%, you can turn off the battery protection function by following these steps:

1. Go to the Settings app on your phone.

2. Select the "Battery and device care" option.

3. Tap on "Battery" and then select "More battery settings".

4. Look for the "Protect battery" option and turn it off.

Once you turn off Protect battery, you'll be able to charge your battery up to 100% if needed. However, please keep in mind that charging your battery up to 100% too frequently may negatively impact the overall lifespan of the battery.

There's a great battery guide that you might find to be very useful here:

Yes this is correct remember you losing 15% of your battery with this feature enabled but it does prolong your battery lifespan but obviously with the feature enabled you will get less hours per charge
