so i went to battery device care > storage > duplicate files (i didn't went in the folder instead clicked on the video which appeared first since it's the largest, it then played the video (the app icon was device care) and on the bottom corner had option to delete the video, then pop up message told me that it will move it to the recycle, i notice the file wasn't in recycle and it was no longer in my files, and yet my storage GB doesn't change)

please help! i tried this with 3 videos lol and they are all missing

when i tried opening the duplicate folder and delete from there, the video went to recycle bin and i can delete to decrease storage. So lesson learned but still i need help with the missing 3 videos as it contribute a large size to the GB

Restart the phone. Might help. This sounds like a bug in the phone.

Are you sure these are not videos which are stored to your onedrive? My phone uploads my videos to onedrive automatically so they are not stored on the phone but you still see the thumbnail and when you play them its being streamed from onedrive.

100% sure, because i tried it with 3 videos because i was so curious, can you please try it on ur samsung phone lol, basically go to duplicate files then click it so it will be on video player mode (the app symbol was device care) and then just click the garbage bin icon, then pop up saying it will go to recycle bin... then it's missing

it was on internal storage, also my internal storage didn't decrease

I have done it on mine and no problems, if internal storage hasn't gone down then its still on your phone somewhere. Have you checked the original folder where the videos were initially?

yes i checked it but it's nowhere to be found by the original name, even if it changed name wouldn't it still show as duplicate? anyhow it's missing again, i just tried it with another video voila it's not in the recycle bin again.

this is definitely a bug but i don't know how to solve it **bleep**... if i just let it be wouldn't it harm the system??? files missing after being deleted??? have nothing of this sort ever happened considering it's under duplicate storage space, i thought more people would encounter the same problem
