One UI 5.1 disastrous update..

I regret updating to 5.1 on my Note 20 ultra 5G, completely ruined my device. Had some minor issues after the 5.0 update but I was not prepared for something like that! Data reception completely broken, refused to connect on 4G/5G, for Wifi need to be in the same room with the rooter otherwise the signal drops every now and then, same with wireless reception where I used to have 3-5 bars now it's 1-2, if I'm lucky.

Battery goes faster, charging is slower. The device is over 2 years old,  I understand how things work however this is unacceptable. I was hoping to keep the device until the end of the year, now I'm forced to get a new one. My phone is an important tool for my work , I need to have 100% trust , but now I have lost most of it.

If you add the device care optimisation widget to your home screen. Then you can optimise it easily so everything runs smoothly

I simply can't share from the camera app since the update. It just crashes and says 'android system keeps stopping'. Given how often I take a photo and want to share it this is also pretty disastrous.

I have always been a Samsung fan and am really disappointed by this. It feels.like they have bricked the phone on purpose. How can an update stop your phone from being a phone?
Not good and no rollback. Maybe there is no way back for them, I have lost faith

This is definitely not what we'd expect to be happening, @harjiharj. Please can you elaborate about the issues you've encountered with your Note20 Ultra after installing your software update, and can you also let us know if you've tried any steps to get your phone working as expected again?

@PaulM1  - I am also having catastrophic problems with my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G after it decided it wanted to update in the middle of a meeting, despite my having set it repeatedly for 2AM.

Several apps no longer work, including my Nordpass password Vault, Speedtest, and Letterboxd, to name a few - all say that there was a problem and to try again later.   It seems like anything trying to get active content refreshed to the screen is broken.  So far, for each app I have cleared cache, uninstalled, reinstalled with power down / restarts in between to no avail.  I have checked an my internal storage is not full, but I purged a bunch of downloaded data anyway.

I haven't checked all my apps yet obviously, but this seems very bad and I found this thread so am reaching out for any assistance please.

Thanks.

That's very unusual indeed, @JakeWolf19. I appreciate that you've already followed an array of steps to address the issues your Note20 Ultra has encountered, post-update.

Have you also tried Wiping the cache partition to see if that resolves these issues? It's a worthwhile step after a software update has been installed, and won't raise any of your essential data:
