Simple task really. How do I add a phone number from a recent call directly to a contact? When I select it, the only option is delete. I'm using a Note 9 with One UI.

This does not work. It used to work, but doesn't anymore. Perhaps the question should be how to restore this functionality.

It is a nuisance if you continually make phone calls to someone who you are attempting to make into a contact.
They may think; one phone call and now he is stalking me!

You can type as light as you light, it simply does nor work ..I spent 30 Min trying to figure out how to do it and still nothing ..this phone app is really badly conceived , I got a new phone that is pretty useless when it comes to basic stuff

@Members_Jb5Df59: As the original post is few years old now, the steps provided have changed slightly in the more recent Android versions.
To add a contact via the Phone app, please open the Phone app > Select the 'Recents' tab (at the bottom of the screen) > Tap on the number you want to add > Select '+ Add to Contacts' (located below the series of icons that appear).

The problem is that intuitively you long press once and then the feature is blocked , you need to como out if the application and open it again for a tap to work ..so there is clearly a big in addition to the application being extremely poorly designed because of being counter intuitive . This in unacceptable on a phone that pretends to be in a high end, and actually goes back on many aspects when compared to my 5 years old Huawei P20. The Samsung keyboard is another example , spell checking a disaster . How does Samsung react to those issues and clear bugs ?
