On my Samsung A14 I often get a number showing on the messages icon on the home screen. This number indicates the number of sms messages I have that are unread - or at least it should. However, when I open the messages app there are no new messages to view. I try searching for them and looking in 'unread' messages but there's nothing there. Maybe they are hiding in the spam folder (maybe they are from blocked numbers?) but where is the spam folder and how do I access it?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hello 👋 @Kingsboy48

This might be a glitch.

First turn the phone Off and On i.e a Soft Reboot, but if that does not help then follow this by trying a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

You could also try >

  • Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port or a usb-c to usb-c phone to phone set up to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

In regards to the Samsung Messages settings please launch the messaging app and tap on the 3 dots in the top Rh corner and all the revenant settings / options are there b

There isn't a Spam folder like you'd see in an eMail App for example.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
