I know that to fit the current trend most smartphones are averaging at 6.6 to 6.7 inches, but will there ever be smaller midrange phones again? Missed the times where there was always an option for users...
Want a smaller phone, get the A3X series (A30 to A33 was locked at 6.4). Want the big one get the A7X series which has been long discontinued.
Not to mention phones are also getting heavier along with the increasing size.

Yep. I like the S24 more too and dont really need the Sd8 elite.
Apple has the base models and new SE4 is coming out. But nah cant live with iOS. Literally have a new iPad sitting there whilst im using my old Galaxy Tab

Fair point
But all in all i really wonder and hope small midrange phones come back along with Samsung's bold innovative era. 2016 to 2020 was peak but since then, max at 2022 nothing much has happened...all just going along with the trend

@WakakaWaffle I think generally nowadays there are demands to fit in more components and you need space for more powerful Batteries. Like it or not there is just not the same demand for smaller Devices with customers spending a lot time on their Smart Devices. so there are few compact Devices and it will be a challenge. A review of some compact devices here https://www.androidcentral.com/best-small-android-phone
Whilst SD cards still have a fan base nowadays I think they are generally outmoded, not the fastest technology and prone to errors. The flagships do offer more internal storage (wiythout offers at a premium mind you) and as has been mentioned alternatives such as flash drives/local storage in addition to the cloud.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Thanks for your insight.
I do agree about the SD cards. They're e inefficient compared to built in storage but thats not the main case for me. The real deal breaker is the size.
Not to argue but just highlighting. The A33 and A53 are of a smaller, more manageable size. However comparing them to something like the A35 or A55, they specs arent that different. Camera sensors increase in size but with the depth sensor out of the way more room has been made. Other specs are literally quite the same, making the only reason the screen's size. This means that the phone's size has been increased on purpose thus making it possible for smaller phones again.
Nevertheless its all an opinion...just wondering what the community thinks. Most agree on just getting the base S series which to be fair is the only logical solution left.
