Told the A05s along with low other low budget samsung phones will not get the full update and support anyway,
Apparently they have promised to update 56 devices to android 15 and are struggling, they are already months behind on midrange samsung phones updates, l was told it would be second quarter of 2025 , not all midrange phones will be on ui 7 and android by then, huge delays, so earliest now would be Q3 but realistically between September & November. For some reason samsu g are falling way behind on upgrades except flagship phones last few years
Even security patches are not full security patches on midrange to low end phones, they only cover critical and high risk vulnerabilities patches , suppose it's the cost of maintaining low end phones.
That said they did promise, but if you read the t&c there are lots of get out clauses.
Trouble is if your supporting dozens of phones all with different components it's very difficult to keep them updated at reasonable cost, especially worldwide. I get it but l am seriously disappointed the A05s is always months behind with security updates at least 3 months behind and they are not even now covering moderate or low risk vulnerabilities in the security patches, as for upgrades we get one, by the time it's released the phone security patches will render the phone unusable for banking apps etc, and in 2026 even the poor security patches will stop
Or we might get one 6 month security patch for 2026, l k ow it's a £150 phone but very poor
Seems samsu g go e down apple road anything less than £1,000 would get regular and fully reliable updates or full security patches . Next phone ? God Google pixel don't want to but at least it's not apple costs £600 and will last 4-5 of full upgrades and full monthly security patches for 4-5 years
Google, good God, at least it's not apple, and for £600 a solid phone that will at least last 4 years plus.
