Whatsapp Incoming call won't show on the whole screen and phone has to be unlocked to answer

Samsung Galaxy A55. Lockscreen enabled. Incoming WhatsApp calls won't show on the whole screen and can only be seen on the notification bar. 
Also, I can't answer the call without having to unlock it first

There are lots of issues with WhatsApp so rest assured you are not the only one.
I have a S24 Ultra in the UK and have the same issue as you.
I will attach a link to an earlier post so you can read the issues people are having with WhatsApp.

Hi, have you checked notification settings on WhatsApp? I don't have any issues at present.

I also notice that you have setting so that content will only be seen when unlocked? I don't know if that might be why it's not showing, maybe try selecting Hide content and toggling off the former?

Toggled off but still need to unlock phone and the call won't show on whole screen

Try clearing the cache, maybe turn off and back on? Sorry not sure what else to suggest if that doesn't work. To get full screen, try going into call settings and call display whilst using apps
