Hi. I have a Galaxy A14 and recently when listening to the radio or music through YouTube the volume keeps turning itself down. I have checked and the volume limiter or whatever is called is turned of but on the sound settings half way up the media bar its stuck on red. No matter what i do i am ynable to listen to music without the sound going down. My previous phone 21s (?) had the same issue. Could the phone be over heating ? I am stuck. Any help appreciated.

If the phone was overheating you would see a pop up warning of that @scrumpy1973

Please try these troubleshooting steps  >

  • Reboot your phone by turning it off and on and recheck any relevant settings.
  • Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }
  • Run the phone's Diagnostic Tool in your Samsung Members App and if that does not help then a back up followed by a factory reset maybe the last resort before letting a Samsung Service Centre have hands on.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Just wanted to reply to this as I've been dealing with this on my Tab S4 for years. I use it strictly as a media center tablet connected full time to some external speakers. I've tried all the tricks and all the settings and it still happens. This is an excedingly annoying behavior that refuses to go away. If I wanted my volume lower I'd turn it down, this nanny nonsense only angers people as no one would have it happen and think "Huh, maybe I ought to have the volume lower". Absolutely trash this was ever allowed in the production stream.

Yep. I truly don't understand the thinking behind it. It's not that it only happens once as when it starts it does it constantly.

Yea, if it did it when I initiated playback that might be less annoying as I am already standing there and can turn it back up easily. It's when I've been listening for hours and then all of a sudden things get real quiet and it takes me a minute to realize what happened and I have to walk over to the tablet when I'm able to stop what I was doing and approve my use of high volume and then turn it back up to full. I know this device isn't getting regular updates anymore, but come on Samsung. I chose this tablet specifically because it still had a headphone jack as well as SD card slot in the size I wanted. Had I known I'd have to deal with this I probably would have gone with another product.
