When I use Google maps in the car ithe phone won't speak to me it will if I use it in other people's cars but not mine. I'm guessing somehow I've blocked this with the Bluetooth connection but not sure how - help please.
The phone is paired with the car for calls could this have something to do with it? It also wouldn't play a voice on a you tube video while the engine was switched on (I wasn't driving at the time just testing the theory)

Try changing the audio source on the car (usually a button that cycles through radio/aux/ media ) to media and see if it works then

Some older cars have a 3.5mm audio connection, you cable connect to the phone then use aux output for the voice to come out of the cars speakers if thats what your trying to do. Also allows music from phone to be played through the cars speakers.
If your car supports android auto you could connect that way, I've no knowledge on this as I prefer my VW's built in system.
