[URGENT HELP] Samsung does not recognize my correct PIN

Hello everyone.

I'm commenting on the "disorder" that Samsung is causing me to suffer. Last Thursday, I decide to reboot my device, Samsung A22 4g, something I do once a week to "speed up" the device a bit, and this is when the WORST happens. My samsung does NOT accept/recognize my own PIN (100% sure it is the correct one), at first I thought I was setting it wrong, after three errors, I start to worry.... After 3 wrong errors, I start trying other "possible PINs" but none were correct ACCORDING to the device.

Today I try again and it asks me to wait 24 HOURS before I can try a PIN.

I want to clarify that I can NOT lose the data that is on the phone, otherwise I would have already restored and recovered my device.

I have read all over the internet and it has happened to many users. Some have solved it by going into Safe Mode and it accepted (fortunately) the PIN.

What is Samsung's solution to this? I can't just reset the phone, I have a lot of data that I can't lose.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who has been able to fix this. This is really keeping me awake at night! a real headache!

Hi Leona,

My problem was solved after 24 hours waiting to sign in again. This time I entered the right pin and it accepted.

Thank you though for your response.

Regards,

Rossy

This didn't help me, but it may be that I've retried it too many times (as the other responder said they had to wait 24 hours). This is ridiculous! I'm not losing any data as this is a NEW PHONE, on the first day, I chose my pin code maybe half an hour ago. I can continue using my old phone for another day or so. But it's still really ridiculous. If I have to set up a Samsung ID, why can't I just use that to unlock my phone? What a stupid issue this is.

Actually, has anyone been able to do a factory reset? I can't do one on the phone, because I can't unlock it. And I can't do one remotely, because the phone is running; I can't turn it off without unlocking it. When I try to turn it off, it asks me to unlock it. I can restart it using the previously mentioned button combination (power button+lower volume button 10-15 seconds). Customer service told me if I hold those buttons down for 30 seconds, I would enter some kind of "safe mode" or "recovery mode" or something; but it just gives me a loop of the start screen and a black screen. I'm going to wait 24 hours and try my PIN again, after that I'm sending the phone back where I bought it. With all my imported data still on it, since I can't remove it without unlocking it. That's their problem now.

Hi, I had the same issue, despite of the fact that I typed in the coreect PIN I could not acces the phone.

The brand sercive in Budapest told me to pay for the fix. But I bought the phone 2 months ago with 2 years of guarantee. And it is not my mistake. How can I get a fix, for free?

I've seen this twice now in the last two weeks. The first with a Samsung A34 and the most recent with a Samsung A31. Both were unable to sign in with their PIN following a restart. The response was an invalid PIN and a hard reset required to restore operation. To rub salt into the wound, in both cases the PIN was successfully confirmed by the reset phome verification.

I just had the same problem on my Note 20 Ultra. Entering correct PIN would not work. Leona's soft reset suggestion worked (hold Power and Volume Down for 10 secs). Phone rebooted and now accepted the same PIN it wouldn't accept. Thanks so much for posting this solution!

Also, I had all the alternate biometric features activated like face recognition and fingerprint as well as all the "don't ask for PIN if..." features (like: if at GPS location, if connected to certain bluetooth devices) and ALL of them stopped working when it stopped accepting the correct PIN.

I'm just going to remove the ***** PIN. I don't keep anything confidential on my phone, don't do any financial stuff from accounts on the phone and don't use phone-based payment.

Unbelievable that Samsung has this disastrous bug and it's not fixed.

I have the same problem, 24hours lock again and doing soft reset. Not fixed. I changed pin code in my samsung account in "lost mode" and still wrong code. Lost mode gone and again wait 24hours so stupid!!! With the locked screen you can not connect to other wifi network. The most craziest experience , never buy samsung again.

HI everyone :

I came from china with the S24 of Samsung.  I met the disaster yesterday.

when I wont to share  my wifi key, it neet to input PIN , i tried times , but all failed. (i thought i must include the correct PIN key).

After failed recognizitions of a half hour , one and two hour wait, all failed.

When i lose hope to ready for wipes and load default of facory status, i open with the same of former PIN key.

But the failed unlock happened again next day.
