How do I upgrade my galaxy A10E to android 10? It's currently at android 9 and some of my banking apps no longer work and won't upgrade on android 9. I've gone to setting/software updates and it says I'm up to date.

Hello @gnuorder

The avenues to update your phone to an available software is explained here > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-update-latest-software-for-your-galaxy-mobi...

The above ^ advises how to use SmartSwitch.

Updates can depend on region and if a network decides to pre test an update this can delay updates.

See sammobile.com and xdadevelopers.com for further information.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Will smartswitch upgrade the android version even if settings says the phone is up to date and can I run smartswitch from a linux PC or android tablet or does it have to be windows?

@gnuorder: If you're using the Windows version of Smart Switch, your PC should meet the following requirements:

  • OS version: Windows XP SP3 and up
  • CPU: Intel Pentium 1.8GHz processor or above
  • Memory: 1.00GB (recommended)
  • Free hard drive space: At least 500MB (recommended)
  • Screen resolution: 1024 X 768 (600), 32 it or above
  • Required software: Windows Media Player 11 or higher

If you're using the Mac version of Smart Switch, your Mac should meet the following requirements:

  • OS version: Mac OS X 10.5 and up
  • CPU: 1.8Hz processor or higher
  • Memory: 512MB
  • Free hard drive space: 512MB (Minimum)

It is certainly worth checking Smart Switch if your PC meets the specifications listed above. From what I understand, the Galaxy A10e is compatible up to Android 11, so if you have been unable to update the device over the air via Wi-Fi, then it is possible that your phone is outside it's intended region. If this is the case, then it can lead to compatibility issues due to software variances that exist in our phones from country to country.
