I recently discovered a hidden method to activate Samsung DeX on my Galaxy A56, a device that officially doesn't support DeX. After extensive testing, I can confirm it works perfectly via wireless connection. Here's how to unlock it on your A-series device.
📱 My Device Setup
- Device: Galaxy A56
- Software: One UI 8 (Android 16)
- Requirements: Both phone and TV/monitor on same Wi-Fi network
- How to Activate Hidden Dex
1. Open Settings** on your Galaxy A56
2. Use the Search Bar** at the top
3. Type "keyboard"** (do NOT search for "DeX")
4. Look for "keyboard dex in the search results under "Connected devices"
5. Tap on "Samsung DeX and select "Connect wirelessly"
6. Choose your display** from the list of available devices on miracast
That's it! Your DeX desktop should now appear on your external display. What Works Perfectly
Full DeX desktop experience with taskbar and window management
Bluetooth mouse and keyboard integration
App multitasking and resizable windows
Stable wireless performance
Works every time once you know the method

Why This Works
Based on my testing, Samsung includes the full DeX framework in A-series firmware but hides the activation interface. The search function bypasses this UI restriction, revealing the hidden DeX entry point that's normally inaccessible. Hope they don't ditch it for ui8.5

I hope this helps other A-series users enjoy desktop computing. Please reply below if this worked for you or if you have any questions.
