You might have the usa version or non international version that doesn't have 5g/4g eu/uk bands so what your seeing would be expected (mostly useless phone with 2g/3g support and maybe marginal 4g support)
it calling it "enhanced calling" instead of "VoLTE calls" is good indicator it isn't the international version (or HAS non international ROM loaded on it)
I had a person who got 2 identical model phones but one was loaded with different rom (operator isn't updating the other one)
post the about phone page (block out the imie and mobile numbers as this is a public forum) and post the software information page as well (as that have rom Version)

for future reference most international have an E/DS or B/DS on the end of Samsung model numbers (not always but common, but having DS means dual sim and that's usually on International versions) unfortunately just saying a54 5g doesn't mean much without the model number

I would strongly recommend returning it for a refund or for a International/normal version as replacement

Also, reach out to your network provider, you may need a new SIM card or additional settings sending to phone.

@josh97: Is the issue persistent in all locations, or just certain ones? If you head to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Network mode, is this set up to automatically connect to the strongest available mobile data signal in your area?
If you are referring to the Mobile data status in Settings > About phone > Status information > SIM card status > Mobile network state, then this will only show as 'Connected' when you have enabled Mobile data on the device. While you're here, check your Network and Service state to ensure that your network is registered, and is showing as 'In service'. You may also wish to try restarting your device to address any temporary performance issues.

@josh97: It's strange that the 'Network mode' option is missing from your settings. If you head to Settings > Connections > SIM manager, is your preferred SIM toggled on, and set to Mobile data? If you head to Settings > Device care > Maintenance mode > Turn on > Wait for the device to restart, then head back to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks, is network mode available?
To exit Maintenance mode, swipe from the top of the screen to the bottom, and tap on the notification to explore your options. Alternatively, head to Settings > Device care > Maintenance mode > Turn off.
