I have recently bought a Samsung galaxy A10. It came with a 2 GB Ram and a 32 GB SD Memory Card. I'd like to ask you how can I make the SD Memory Card the default storage on my Samsung?

Also how can I transfer applications from the internal storage to the SD memory card?

No, the SD card can only be used for documents/ files such as music or photos. All apps are installed to the internal storage only. This applies to all Android devices.

Hi @Anonymous User. After a certain Android update, it became impossible to transfer apps to an SD card (some developers still may allow it).

Thanks for letting me know. That sounds weird.  So what about the SD card then? Can it become the default storage for applications i download from google play or another website?  Because if that can not be done then the MICRO SD card is useless.

Hi @Anonymous User , I invite you to read those 2 articles :

Also, If yoy want to save everything on your SD card, do in the Settings of all Applications that can save files and chosse SD card as default storage. If you do this, don't buy a cheap Micro SD card, read my document carefully, it helps !

Your "answer" isn't quite correct.  Especially stating that lack of adoptive storage applies to all Android devices. That is just not true.

Manufacturers such as Samsung in this case has decided to disable the option from Android. Personally I think it should simply be a choice given to the user once a blank SD card is inserted if they want the format as portable or shared internal rather than forcing the user's hand to choose portable only.

It's also reminds me why I got away from Samsung years back because they change too much about Android.

My A70 has the option to move Adobe Acrobat to the SD card, though I've not tried it or looked at others

The BLU android I replaced with this Galaxy A10s allowed me to download any app that was not preinstalled on it to an SD card. It appears to be a more advanced android than the one I just bought.

Hey,

if your device is running Android 6+, some adb shell commands should do their work.  Simply download adb, connect your device via MTP, verify the RSA-Token, type "adb shell" , "sm list-disks" (copy the output), then type "sm partition [paste what you have copied here] private"

This will convert your external sd card to internal storage.
