Samsung Pay issues on UK / TFL buses

I've had this issue on my S20FE 5G previously; this issue has carried over on to my A34 5G.

I also have issues in Iceland supermarkets too oddly enough.

NFC on Samsung Pay work well everywhere else (in-store shopping, TFL/UK trains). But everytime I'm using London TFL buses, as well as buses outside of London, it always goes red and declines.

I wonder if there's something I need to do or if there are similar issues for others. I've seen someone have the oposite problem, but with no solution. I always need to use a physical card.

Have you set up one of your cards on Samsung Pay as your default transport card? Also in London you don't press any but to launch Samsung pay, it's literally tap your watch or phone on the oyster card reader and it automatically pays without you doing anything else.

I have used the default transport card option, and I have also turned it off. The default transport card option is only to makes it it quicker - instead of manually opening the app.

It hasn't made a difference whether I've set this up or not.

Same thing with me. I had error with samsung pay/transport card - always have the red beep when i use tfl train/bus. Most days it works yet sometimes it doesnt.. it is a bit frustrating since you need to always bring a back up card with you.

I tried deleting the card and add it back then set again to transport card yet still the same.
Restarting the phone after the changes wont make any difference too..
I hope they could fix this error with samsung wallet/pay.

Thanks for posting. It's quite annoying. I've even reverted to using my old oyster card because I take the bus to work instead of the train. There's still no change. Plus, the Oyster card app got hacked, which adds to my frustration

There is definitely an issue with Samsung Pay and TFL.  Generally it works on the underground but never works on the bus.  I hardly take the bus but when I do I always get "seek assistance ".

I thought it would be better once I upgraded from the active 2 to the 7 ultra but the behaviour is exactly the same.

Even the 10% failure on the underground is really annoying.

If no-one at samsung can be bothered to properly investigate I will just switch to G-pay.

Thanks for sharing your same experience. I have also contemplated Google Pay, but I keep fobbing it off or forgetting about it. But I think if it continues to be dysfunctional, then it will have to be an option

Actually google pay AWALYS works.

I've never been able to use the transport card on a bus service in Manchester.

It works when I unlock it, and tap. That's not a transport card though 😞
