Samsung Galaxy A55 Review: Disappointing Display Quality

The Samsung Galaxy A55 falls short in delivering a vibrant display experience that users expect from midrange smartphones in 2024. One of its major drawbacks is the washed-out colors and lack of a wider color gamut compared to its competitors.

Display Quality---
The most glaring issue with the Galaxy A55 is its lackluster display. The colors appear muted and washed-out, failing to provide the vividness and richness found in other midrange phones. Whether you're browsing photos, watching videos, or simply navigating the interface, the screen's underwhelming color reproduction detracts from the overall user experience.

Color Accuracy and Gamut---

Unlike its peers in the midrange segment, the Galaxy A55 struggles to reproduce colors accurately and lacks a wider color gamut. This deficiency becomes especially evident when viewing content that demands high color fidelity, such as HDR videos or detailed photographs. The subdued colors make the display feel outdated and unsuitable for multimedia enthusiasts or users who prioritize visual quality.

Brightness and Viewing Experience---
Additionally, the brightness levels of the Galaxy A55's display are subpar, particularly under direct sunlight or bright indoor conditions. This limits outdoor usability and further diminishes the already compromised viewing experience.

In conclusion, while the Samsung Galaxy A55 offers competitive features in other aspects, such as performance and build quality, its display quality leaves much to be desired. Potential buyers should consider alternatives that offer superior color vibrancy and a wider color gamut within the same price range. If display quality is a priority for your smartphone usage, you may find the Galaxy A55's screen performance very disappointing.

For consumers seeking a vibrant and visually engaging display experience, exploring other midrange options might be more rewarding than settling for the compromised visual fidelity of the Galaxy A55.

This answer from Samsung just isn't correct. The colors of the display are highly dissatifying and you can't correct it in the settings.

The vividness slider needs work . The colors still aren't  as intense  and saturated as older Samsungs.

Really? I'm using the A55 here in the UK 🇬🇧 and the display is " vibrant " ! All the reviews say the same! I have a Samsung Fold 5 and S23 ultra! You are talking nonsense or your phone is faulty

What review??? Literally all videos shows that new Samsung  devices aren't as saturated and vibrant as older Samsung devices.  I also debunked your lie because the photos I sent clearly shows  s23u being more saturated and vibrant than a55. Also it's not just on my device  I've  checked multiple  a55 devices in the Samsung  store and all are the same.  This is an issue that can addressed via a software  update  . The latest  update fixed the reds and yellows but the rest of colors need work  especially the greens , purples and blues.

The difference is minor! Why do you persist with this nonsense? I have owned many Samsung phones and tablets !

Man don't  give me that foolishness  . The difference is not minor . There shouldn't be any difference  at all . Like how Samsung used to be . Multiple  a55 users have also expressed the same concern  . We need the old saturation  and vividness back in the specific colors.  So please if you don't have anything constructive to say or actually  address our concerns . Just stay quiet  .
