You should be fine. What @Eleanorreo, as long as you stick to the basic practises then you should be fine. My mum old S10 doesn't get security updates anymore. But it still continues to receive google play system updates before I upgraded her phone. Your phone should still continue getting google play system updates wants samsung ends the software support.

Kind of. But Google play updates are small updates. It does some parts on keeping the phone secure, such as the os.
