Rubbish wifi

Just bought this A12. The WiFi is rubbish. My old phone will show several networks in hospital grounds, this phone shows none.

Even the WiFi test here while here at asda says there are 4 available networks, yet only two are shown?

It will connect fine, but it has to be able to see the networks to be able to connect?

It's likely not all networks are showing because the phone doesn't support the 5Ghz band.

Some do appear for a second or so, but I am pretty sure the hospital does not use 5GHZ. I will check though.

You might have hit the nail on he head there.

My cheap Chinese Oukitel C15 Pro has 5GHZ wifi 😀

Cannot see anyway to tell what the network is on the phone?

I just use 2.5GHZ at home and it connects fine there.

Will monitor in other places.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the A12 does not support 5ghz because it does not have dual band WiFi support.

Yes, lack of 5GHZ appears to be the cause. ☹️

I created a hotspot on my C15pro and it connected to that fine.

Shame really, as the rest of the phone seems a tidy phone.

At least I know it is not faulty. 😄
