Rolling back last update?

Hi Forum Folke,

I have an A02S running Android 11.  It updated its software not long ago, and now I have a bug where the phone keeps firing up whatever music playing app I have installed and playing a random audio file (music or ringtone) at random intervals.  Kind of annoying to have your phone blast you out of a sound sleep at 2:57 in the morning!

I've found all kinds of suggestions for what to do about it (apparently it's not an uncommon issue), but in almost all cases, the suggestions don't match what's available in my phone's menu, so I can't follow them.  What I DO know is that this problem didn't happen until after the upgrade. I would like to 'roll back' to the software version that was in the phone when it arrived; can you verify that a hard reset will restore the phone to it's original "as recieved" version?

If not, is there some other way to undo an upgrade?  If it makes any difference, this is a TracFone, not one from one of the 'big-box' carriers.

It does not seem to have Samsung Music installed, nor any other music app that I can find, other than the ones I've installed and tried.  I'm partial to "Pi" music player, but I've tried three others as well, and they all have the same problem, which is why I think it's a phone issue, and the fact that it started happening on the heels of an update pretty much cements that theory.  Removing all music apps resolves the problem.  Any input would be very much appreciated!  I like playing music from my phone to a Bose bluetooth speaker, but it's not worth this kind of aggravation.

My battery seems to be dying quicker than normal. I fully charged it before starting work and now the battery is on 15% and that with me not even using hard, before it used to last until the evening with heavy usage. I want to roll back this update because I ain't feeling this.

Hi there I have found a resolution for the battery problem on Tick Tock this morning. Go to settings and then choose connection settings. From here unclick all the stuff that's clicked on there that you don't need anymore when the update was made it automatically clicked all this stuff like different types of sharing. So if you unclick that it's supposed to make your battery life stay normal

@phillou1, There's no official way to roll back to previous firmware. Downgrading is not possible because security reasons.

I have just downloaded U17 update and it's the worst one yet!!! My battery is draining really quick and where as before I could keep it on powersave and it would still be in light mode, if I keep it on it then goes to dark mode. My weather app looks awful on screen it's so big that I can't change it, my search bar where my apps are is on the bottom instead of the top. I can't revert so what are people supposed to do. When it goes into lock screen my notifications are so big. You need to make sure that before an update is needed that it is tested as like many others they are not happy.

Hi, I had problems with update. Still don't like it. Rang Samsung Support & got help. They will ask you to install Smart Tutor & they can then do things on your phone, but you can see exactly what. Will save time if you install the app first. I'm old so called from my landline which made it easier. Good luck.

So if something doesn't work properly, you just have to wait for the next upgrade! What a joke, won't be getting another Samsung Galaxy...
