Region lock on UK A52s 5G?

I bought a A52s 5G in the UK as a gift for a family member living in France.

But the mobile internet will not work with a French sim card.

Is this due to a region lock? If so seems to be a new thing between UK and France.

Can you please advise how to get around this?

There is no mention of region locking on the phone packaging or instructions.

It might depend where you bought the phone from. If it's off eBay or the Internet then it could of come from anywhere. Which might possibly make it region locked.

So calls work ? Have you checked your French carrier APN settings ?

I bought the phone new from the official Samsung website.

Yes, calls work and I have udpated APN settings. Mobile data is the problem.

Just wondering is there any new region lock UK / France?
