Proximity sensor always flashing

Ive noticed recently that my proximity sensor is always flashing whenever I move my phone. It doesn't matter whether I am on a phone call or not but it doesn't black out my screen it is just flashing which is quite annoying. Is this normal? I think it wasn't doing it before but maybe I never noticed it.

Hi @Taylor4. Does this occur when you're in Safe Mode? To activate this, hold the 'Power' down and then long-press on Power Off. This will change to Safe Mode. Tap on that and your phone will restart in Safe Mode. Let me know how you get on.

It doesn't happen while in safe mode. Its mostly flashes when i move my phone.
