Hi, I dont know what you call this, but sometimes if I click quickly on a notification at the top of the screen I'll get a mini window floating in front of existing windows showing the app and e.g. message.
Its really annoying, cant easily be closed and utterly useless.
Ive searched and searched but cant find the setting to turn these mini floating app windows off.
Please help.

@carl_nickname: Please try heading to Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Floating notifications, and set this to 'Off' to see if this resolves the issue.

Alternatively, head to Settings > Advanced features > Multi window > Swipe for pop-up view > Off.

Hi Andrew, thank you but both of these are already off, I think I found them previously via googling.
I hope the description makes sense, it's like a small version of the app itself that appears in a floating window.

I've just read the description from swipe for pop-up view and tried it.
It is exactly like that, except that it doesnt come from an already open app, it comes from swiping a notification too quickly.

Apparently if you enable the detailed notification style it prevents swiping down on a notification from opening the small window version of the app. On my Galaxy s23 I go to Settings > Notifications > Notification pop-up style and choose the Detailed option.

Thank you @nic_fox I will give that a try. Im not sure how to get back to this page afterwards unfortunately, but fingers crossed!

Thanks for posting this question. I also tried the first two suggestions (no help). Hopefully the detailed notifications help. Who asked for this obnoxious feature, anyway? And why isn't turning it off a toggle instead of having to turn off brief notifications just to avoid unwanted windows? Anyway, thanks again for asking this.

Hi, I've tried this detailed style for a while. It has seemed to be happening less often now, only once on an app this week.
It's such an odd feature of no use at all, wish it would just go away!

Anyone get an actual fix for this? It is driving me nuts and no matter what I do...I can't get it to go away.

Hi, I did all the changes suggested above and it seems to have worked, I don't get the weird little mini windows any more. I suspect it was the detailed notifications setting if that helps.
