Update on the dreaded One UI 8 software update and A53 5G phone. Havig sent my phone for repair to Samsung UK's repair centre in Harlow MTR Group LtdI today received a repair cost of £496 incl VAT they have claimed it is "tempered" by which I suspect they meant "tampered", which it certainly was not. It was fully functuional pre update and non functional after. Support can only do so much and MTR group has a ghastly record a message system so you cannot even ask them what the problem is. This is awful service, reflects badly on the Samsung brand and is unacceptable. End of rant Thankyou for destroying a perfectly serviceable phone

Update, After a prodigious effort to get to Samsung Support, I sent the phone to UK repair agent MTR Group, after several days they resonded with " item tempered ? tampered, it's not ! I was then quoted £496 for a complete rebuild, which I turned down as it is the price of a new phone! Phone backed up and I have paid for phone to be delivered by courier on the faint chance that Samsung issues some patch for the dreadful UI8 on an A53. Same old, same old, no SIM recognition. This has taken days to well not sort out at all. It is beyond belief that this is not recognized when it afflicts US , UK and maybe more users. Not a happy bunny
