No disable chat option

I have an A71 5G that did an update.  No my messages are stuck in chat mode.  Everything I have read says there is an option under settings to disable.  There used to be, but it's not longer there.  I have reached out to customer support at Samsung twice, which was useless.  The last one just kept scrolling through my pages of apps.  

Has anyone had this issue?  

I need back to my SMS and out of chat mode.

Rcs messaging only turns on if the server and recipient has rcs enabled otherwise messages go via regular sms

What's the issue with RCS messaging, it's hardly noticeable tbh

@Tina2843: Can you try swiping up from your Home screen and heading to Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Rich Communications, and toggling this option off if it's active? Now, open the Messages app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Chat settings > Chat features > Off > Default message type > Text or multimedia. Let me know if this helps.
