I have just replace a J6 with a new A21S. All fine apart from the Bluetooth connection to car (2018 Toyota). Although the initial pairing is fine, when I leave/come back/restart car, the pairing will not connect. The phone and car are still paired, I just receive a message on the BT screen saying "couldn't connect". the two buttons under paired device settings for calls and audio are "off" - they will not stay "on". I have unpaired and re-paired, wiped BT Cache and also went into Recovery Mode and wiped Partition. I have also reset network setting. Absolutely every piece of advice on the internet has achieved nothing.
I tested my old J6 and also my work iphone 7 and they work perfectly on the BT for the car. Looks to me software issue but software is up to date.

Yes definitely sounds like a software issue and talking to that specific type of cars Bluetooth. Only other thing I could suggest is Resetting your phone back to factory settings in case its a software glitch, failing that then its going to maybe need reporting to Samsung maybe so they could get a bug fix for it or something. Hope that helps.

Thanks. So I tried a few other things - connecting in Safe Mode- no joy, rechecked iphone and old J6 still connected without problem. I then did a factory reset just to make sure- no joy. I have found a sort of fix. You simply keep manually pressing the device name in the BT screen and it will finally connect after about a minute. I also note a few other forums starting to highlight Android 10 issues with Bluetooth. Guess "use your clients as your Beta testers to save money" is in full swing again. Surprised Samsung didn't check BT compatibility with 2 year old car. I will await the next Android 10 update for the fix.

I have had exactly the same issue with my new A21S purchased in June 2020. Initially the pairing and operation worked perfectly with my 2016 Jaguar, but a couple of months later Samsung released a system update that was supposedly to improve BT and some other items. Immediately thereafter I started experiencing the same problems as you with a total inability to continually pair and function in the car. The unit still worked perfectly in our other car and my old Galaxy S5 also pairs and works seamlessly .
After several factory resets it was clear that the supposed "update" seemed to overrule the factory reset and I was only able to complete the initial pairing sequence once, before the "couldn't connect" message re-appeared. I strongly suspect that the so-called "update" was actually the cause of the connectivity problem.
I also tried "Reset network settings" (Under "Settings" "General Management" "Reset" "Reset network settings"). This allowed a successful pairing and operation, but once only before the "couldn't connect" message continually reappeared.
After many wasted hours, I lodged a complaint and returned the mobile to the supplier who supplied a brand new unit free of charge. BT operation is now functioning normally every time as expected.
Interestingly, a couple of days ago, I received another System Update from Samsung with a release date of 02-11-2020, which again references BT and other improvements. The build number of this update is: A217FXXU3ATJ3.
As the system is currently functioning well, I have not implemented this latest update as I will wait and see if any further issues occur and/or are reported.
