Purchased two A34 5G handsets for myself and my husband in June 2023 ready for travelling again. Previously we've had non e sim phones and had to go Crystal maze style sim card shopping in each country....we don't use airports.

Happy with our new purchase...off we went to Europe in our van.

Imagine then....when we needed a local sim...we were feeling very smug amd went online and purchased two e sims....
It was then the problems started.
There is no option, on either to select add plan in the sim manager.....This was in February 2024.

It's now the last day of August, 6 months later....and we've STILL not manged to get help with our issue.
I've called support, been passed around, had calls with a manager booked, who never called. I've sent emails, evidence and even emailed the Samsung president in the UK...address found on Google.....Nothing.
I've now got another route via instagram where they assure me this handset is compatible....Then why don't I have the option she screams...in utter frustration.....again.....
I've now discovered the Samsung Members app...and submitted an error report....as advised.....and now found this forum....that noone, over the past 6 months told me about.

I'm so over this...I spent £550 on handsets....that don't do what I need as a nomadic traveller.

It's really just not good customer service.....its appalling in this era.

Fed up and fobbed off.

A quick spin on the web seems to show that the A34 does not support eSIM, the A35 seems to though

Isn't it crazy that actual Samsung employees in support then assure me they do.... See my frustration.
I actually also have a transcript of the original conversation online I had that tells me this is the one that meets my needs...Clearly advising me of this model 😫

We appreciate the detailed response. We're sorry for the distress and inconvenience caused, and we sympathise with you. However, we would like to reassure you the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and A54 5G are compatible with e-SIM, and the information provided by our colleagues is correct.

We would advise speaking to your Network provider about this, as they will be able to assist you further.

We have also provided a helpful link to assist you with using your e-SIM on our phones:

Please feel free to reach out to us for help and support. We would be more than happy to assist. ^NS

Mmmm that is not good. Can't offer anything for that...they are clearly wrong.

I feel for you...I guess therefore the only thing is to get physical Sims at the inconvenience 😏

Alternatively (and I don't know...) are there any companies that offer a specific travel SIM?

There are no companies that off a sim plan that fits with our travel without paying crazy money. We travelled to 21 countries in 9 months....The one we currently have will only allow use in EU for same amount of time as we use in UK...Lebara have been the best one we've found that allow us use without paying per day to access our usual plans for more than line a week or two!
Were happy to use local sims...but esim is the best option for us....Hence buying handset only.

Thanks, I've tried sending support this quote from thier own website....Its an absolute joke. I was clearly advised wrongly.
The complaint process is so difficult. Basically, there isn't a clear procedure and policy for this....
If you buy from a shop...you can return to the shop...if you buy online...you have to use online support....But they block you from proceeding....I've called so many times, but they make promises then don't call back. I'm so furious.

If you buy online, and are based in the UK, Distance Selling Regulations give you 14 days (some companies offer 28 or 30 out of goodwill) to return items without the need to give a reason (although Samsung charge a 20% returns fee if the package was opened).

After that, your rights are far more limited. Given you bought these devices many months ago, you would not be able to return them to a shop or online for refund even if faulty. They would go for repair.
