This morning's ui8 update has left me without a phone as now the Sim is no longer detected.

 
after trying all the online suggestions (including multiple mobile setting resets) I tried a factory reset. However, this also downloaded ui8 , so that didn't work either.
 
I've just noticed the GPS reception is also non functioning. 
 
I have raised an error report and received an acknowledgement. 
 
I seen a few other's with the same problem.

I have the same issue A53 tried all the steps listed including clearing cache, network settings and factory reset etc. Contacted samsung who provided little help other than reach out on samsung members app for development to possibly respond. One thing during the conversation which surprised me was the phone was a US phone. I'm in the UK and purchased this from Amazon seller new. After a bit of research and investigation the U in the model name means US it then also shows XAA in the provider software details which is US. Tried searching for UK or EU software but it only shows US software for the model. I've located the Android 15 software so going to flash that and see if the 16 Ui8 update has stopped it recognizing the non US sim.

Yes it does appear that the US firmware is the base cause here. Mine is US even though I bought it in the UK as a Giffgaff refurb. I'm beginning to wonder if Samsung will bother fixing this.

I mistakenly posted my first questions on the US site . There were a few people there with the same Sim problem . Presumably they have US sims.

By the way, if you are successful in your switch back to OUI7 then I'd love a copy of your process and which firmware file you found. I'm sure lots of people would be appreciative of your efforts.

I got a notification on the phone an update was available, just the standard path. Which is why it's so annoying that it borked the ***** phone.

Hello,

I have an A54 with dual Sim capability but on use a single Sim. I recently changed provider and when I inserted the new Sim card my phone settings show it as Sim2. I don't see an option to change the default. Nor do I understand if this is a potential problem or not. Everything seems to work properly.

Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Same. Sympathy to users who depend on their phones for safety or a living.  Chat support not working either - maybe suffering overload
